This is a beautiful example of a Swallow combo. It does have some age cracks in the barrel, but it hasn't really weakened the pen, it is still a good solid pen. I think the bright color makes up for the cracks. Smooth writer. The pencil does work.

Unusual colored Swan. Decent writer, but not a great writer.  The color is nice and bright, but there is some discoloration to the barrel.   The 2 cap bands are set into a black plastic band. It seems like a lot of extra work but Swan seemed to do that a lot.  The lever still locks down.

Nice writing pen with a smooth nib. The imprint is light in spots, but I think it was just struck poorly. Unusual markings on the nib. This pen is all gold filled, not really an overlay.  This pen is very similar to pens sold by Edward Todd. They may have been made by the same maker.

Swan Mabie Todd fountain pen that was made in the UK in the 1920s. It is a lever fill pen and it is a good writer. There are 2 cracks in the barrel, so if you don't like cracked pens, you should not buy this rare Swan.

Imprint Condition:  excellent

This is a nice pen in a hard to find color but it is cracked. Good writer. I put a little cement on the section to stabilize the barrel, but you can get the section out with a little heat if you want to fix the crack. The other crack is in the corner of the lever opening and goes out 1/4".

Swan Mabie Todd fountain pen that was made in the USA in the late 1920s or possibly the early 30s. It is an lever fill pen and it is a good smooth writer. The color is the very hard to find cracked ice. There are some age cracks in this pen, but it is a nice looking pen and a good solid writer.

Scratches or Cracks: There is a small crack in the barrel threads [it goes down about 3 threads], and there is also some age lines in the cap. These are all from age, not abuse.
Engravings:   none
Plate wear: The lever and the ball of the clip have a little wear
Imprint:   Swan Self-filling Pen
Imprint Location:  barrel
Imprint Condition: good but the center line with Mabie Todd is worn

Nice writing pen with a smooth nib. The color is not perfect, but very acceptable for this color. The cracks and age lines are all minor. It is not a perfect pen, but it is a nice solid pen.

P807

Swan Mabie Todd pencil from the 1920s.  It is pearl and black veined plastic with gold filled trim. No trim wear. Works great.  This pencil would match a 42 or 44 Swan flattop pen. 5 1/16" long. There is a crack near the top just below the derby. The derby is hard to pull off and someone had used something to pry it off at one time leaving some small marks. $65.00
