The color is great on this pen. It is not perfect, but you are probably
aware of how hard it is to find these pearl and black pens with color on
this level.
Nice smooth writer. The pencil works and I don't think the pencil was
ever used. |

Vintage Sheaffer Balance fountain pen that was made in the USA in
the 1940s. It has a factory white feed. I have read some theories about
the white feeds and they all sound like guesses. Whatever the reason
this pen is fitted with a white feed. It is not painted and it appears
to be plastic or celluloid based. I did notice that most of these feeds
seem to be found in similar pens from the WWII era.

This is a hard to find pen because of the white feed. It is from the
estate of a WWII Vet. Smooth writer even though the nib is a little on
the fine side. This is a medium size pen, not the thin model which you
normally encounter. |

This is a fabulous example of an early Sheaffer. No oxidation. Black
glossy finish. The barrel imprint is crisp and deep. It takes over 2
full turns to unscrew the cap. The top of the cap has the imprinted
"2". Smooth writer even with a needle point fine nib. This pen was
probably made in 1913 and although some pens were made in 1912, this is
a pen that is still from the first full year of production. Near mint. |

Sheaffer flattop fountain pen that was made in the USA in
the 1920s. It is orange celluloid. This pen is not red hard rubber and it
is not the cherry red celluloid or casein used on the loaner pens. It has

and it is a good writer.

This is a nice example of a orange/red celluloid Sheaffer. The solid gold
clip is probably worth what I am asking for the pen and someday someone
will probably buy this pen just to rob the clip off of it. Smooth writer.
Remember, the imprint is worn and there is a tiny ding under the cap
band. |

Sheaffer flattop fountain pen that was made in the USA in
the 1920s. It is the cherry red loaner pen. These pens are supposedly
casein, but I have never found a good test so I'm not sure if it is casein
or just celluloid. It is a beautiful cherry red loaner. The color is nice
on this pen. It is a lever fill pen and it has been serviced and it is
a good writer.

This is a great example of a Sheaffer loaner pen. It is a very unusual
short flattop model, but it is not a thin pen. The cap diameter is 7/16"
[14mm]. It has a very small nib, but this was done on purpose by Sheaffer
who made up a special section for this pen, a large section with a small
hole. Beautiful pen. It is a fairly smooth writer and I don't think this
pen was used much. |

This pen has never been used. The nib may have been dipped in ink once,
but the barrel transparency is perfect. It is hard to find this set with
nice trim, the nickel just didn't hold up on used pens. This set has not
been serviced and I doubt if it will draw ink. This is a collectors set,
not a user set. |

Sheaffer advertising calendar from 1918. It measures 8 1/2" X 15 3/4".
It is cardboard with the original calendar pad intact [one page for each
month]. It is near mint with some minor bumps on the corners and some very
light creases. It is marked Frank Magill Chicago which is the calendar
manufacturer. This calendar was given away by Sheaffer to dealers. It is
in great condition and has a great print of a beautiful young girl. This
is a great piece of art and an important piece of Sheaffer ephemera. The
print is a great representation of 1918. This calendar came from the
collection of an old time calendar and advertising collector. The former
owner probably bought it 40 years ago and had no interest in pens, it was
just a nice old calendar to him. Guaranteed original! Not a
reproduction. |

This is a nice example of a large hard rubber Sheaffer fountain pen. I
think they made one size larger than this pen, but this is an oversize
pen. It is a good smooth writer, don't be afraid of that big fine nib
being scratchy. No oxidation. This pen was not used much. |
